The Hazel Mountain Chocolate Factory sources beans from around the world and everything from high end boxed confections to chocolate bars are tasted like fine wines. Those who work there know the love story behind how the factory came to be on Irish land. And they are quick to hand out nibbles of milk chocolate, and dark chocolate brought in from around the world and refined in-house for their products.

And The Burren Perfumery is tucked away down a road that feels like it’s headed to the center of Ireland, yet takes you to a picturesque wisteria-covered cottage and perfumery where natural scents are conceived, blended, matured and bottled.

From uncommon beauty of the area, to the stunning stonework of the perfumery to the friendly folks preparing lovely food in the cafe, it is a relaxing stop many visiting Ireland never even bother to look up.

It just goes to show you that, like so many other areas of Ireland, Connemara is a feast for the senses.
