It is always nice to run upon someone who can shed light on the foundations of where you live. But meeting someone who understands how Christopher Columbus knew, when he was in Ireland, that there had to be land beyond the great sea, takes that idea to another level. Paeder O’Dowd, studies history and understands how the pieces of the past here fit together. That goes for historic figures from here and those from elsewhere who came here and impacted Ireland, like Christopher Columbus and President john F. Kennedy.
