For the Love of Scottish Legacy Ep 36

Celtic Culture is alive and well in the United States. It makes sense since so many Irish emigrated to the states over the years. And like Irish everywhere, they celebrate their heritage and their link back in history.

Some areas like Boston, New York and Chicago have held huge Celtic celebrations for years. But smaller pockets of Irish live across the country and they are just as dedicated to their heritage. The Sons and Daughters of Erin across Nevada recently honored their ancestors with a project that brought the North and the South together for a purpose. They cleaned up and repaired the graves of those who came before them. Then they celebrated at the local Irish Pub, which is something that many of Irish decent do in Reno every Tuesday.

And not to be outdone, award-winning Scottish Pipers helped celebrate Scottish Clans. The Sierra Highlanders Pipe Band has traveled to Scotland in competition. And have been a part of Scottish celebrations in Nevada for years.

And you can add to that talent, a set of Scottish fiddlers, just beginning to spread their love of Scottish heritage. Holly Steinberg and Vanessa Porter have found a love for the Scottish session and made it their own this past year, and now they are ready to share it with the world.
