The Corona pandemic isn’t the first time huge populations have faced life-threatening hardship. In 1845, Ireland faced the famine and millions or Irish fled the country in search of survival. Many landed in North America and built new lives. But many were lost on the journey.

The ships that carried them were called coffin ships for a reason. Tour The Dunbrody, one of ships that had a good survival rate. And hear about the hardships passengers faced and why they braved the conditions from historical reenactors aboard the Dunbrody.

The Hole in the Wall was famous meeting place for high-powered statesmen, politicians and townspeople. And you can stop in today for a pint where a lot of bit decisions in Irish history were made.
