Mmmmmmm Donuts!

Mmmmmmm Donuts!

You can smell them from the other end of the market and there is ALWAYS a line. And believe me, it is worth waiting in that line, because the donuts at the other end of it melt in your mouth.

Danny is like a donut machine, dropping six or seven at a time into the oil, pulling out the six or seven that are done to drain, taking the six or seven that are draining to the pan of sugar standing by and making a transaction selling them just in time to repeat the cycle. He does it Saturdays and Sundays at the Galway Market next to St. Nicholas’ Church.

Rain or shine, Danny is there. He is dependable. And he’s shy. In fact he didn’t want me to talk record an interview with him for my podcast. But he was fine with a few pictures, and he knows that no one eats his donuts without commenting on them.

Plus, I couldn’t pass up the chance to use these pictures to show you how good they are. You can almost smell them…right?
