Where the Fairies Live

Where the Fairies Live

If someplace is advertised as a fairyland, you expect to find magic there. But when you stumble through a forest and the magic makes itself evident, well that is something different all together. And that's what happened just a half mile from my house. I'd seen a sign there pointing to a garden center and tea room and couldn't resist taking a walk to see it.

And it was magical all on its own. Then I noticed there was more to the trees than you notice at first. The trees were fairy houses. The first was adorable.

The second was too.

But then I realized it was a game to find them.

They had individual taste and obvious character and they made the mile long walk feel like an adventurous stroll.

The family-owned garden center in the historic buildings when you get there are just as enchanting. And the tearoom is peppered with fairy cards, fairy pictures and fairy treats!

And as you leave there's a sign telling you that there are 27 fairy houses in the forest so you know just what to look for on the way out.
