Love Those Lyons!!!!

Love Those Lyons!!!!

When you move away from everything you know, you really don't realize just how happy you'll be when you see a familiar face or two. Of course that goes double for seeing family members, but it goes for any familiar face really.

Jan and Kevin Lyons live in Drogheda, north of Dublin. They lived in Reno for years and our kids went to school together and played o the same soccer teams. They moved back to Ireland a few years ago. And while Jan wrote to me when I arrived here, getting to where they are from where I was, seemed like a tough task.

We met up in Dublin New Year's Eve. The kids headed one way and we headed another and it was a wonderful afternoon as they pointed out the places to see and the places to avoid that night. When I've been in Dublin, the size of it has scared me. But having someone who knows the area give me a personal tour showed me that if I get placement there in a few months, it could be fun. Because not only could I explore the city, I could easily get to where they are on the weekends. (well, not every weekend or they'll regret their invitation) But they told me of a lot of great storiesin that little village and I can't wait to tell them.

But most of all it was so great to talk with friends and catch up on their move back here and my move for school. And it was wonderful to realize I do have good friends who really aren't tht far away.  Love those Lyons!
