Say Cheese!

Say Cheese!

I am not a cheese person. But there is no way you can walk by a shop like this and not take a tour of what they are offering.

This Cheese Monger is always packed on the weekends when the farmer's market in Galway is on. And last week i had to take the tie to stroll through. It really is amazing what they make, and how they do it all. From exotic cheeses to everyday they have it all. Some are paired with appeared salami others are on their own, available in full wheels or in portions you ask for.

And they are constantly shaving off a bit of this one or a shred of that one so everyone buying gets exactly what they want. A little sharper? A bit milder? Spicy? Smooth for melting? They know more than I every knew there was to know about cheese. And I've lived in the pacific Northwest of the U.S. where Tillamook is king!

I can't say it's enough to turn me into a cheese person myself, but a bit of such a specialty with a good bottle of wine and bread from the bakery around the corner is certainly enough to make me think about it once or twice. And more than enough for lunch!
